No pregnant Sybil? Oooohmmmygod! She must of had the baby!! Just think of a baby Branson…
In 1941, twenty-one year old Saoirse Branson (because we’re pretty much all agreed on Saoirse, right?) ventures to Yorkshire to spend the summer with her Aunt Mary and Uncle Matthew, now the Earl and Countess of Grantham, and ends up volunteering for the Women’s Land Army.
It’s a journey of self-discovery for Saoirse who, although the absolute image of Tom, is most definitely a Crawley and has always been likened to Violet by Sybil. However, some woman-to-woman chats with her aunt reveal that maybe she’s more like Mary than she ever thought possible, and Saoirse’s desire to follow in Edith’s footsteps and live a beautifully bohemian lifestyle without the need to be tied down to a single man (or any man at all) is challenged when she meets a devilishly handsome RAF pilot. As the seeds of romance are sewn, Saoirse forges a path for herself that sees her become an entirely new breed of woman altogether…
Well, her parents didn’t give her a name that means “freedom” for nothing.
I need a more productive use for my time…
